Free will clouds
The artwork is commisioned by the Russian State Library
The idea of this commissioned artwork was to create an illusion of "windows to the surreal skies", where the alphabet symbols become zoomorphic creatures (or birds) and fly and behave in this way, in attempt to create meanings and words. One can see the pieces of the words, which are in that or another way are connected with the notion of freedom.
An important part of the artwork is the reflection on the concept of (im)possibility of freedom and more specifically illusion of free will which is as illusionary as the clouds' imagery when we stare at them.
These typographic creatures are sharing the unconsciousness of the skies with simple geometric objects which echoing the architectural patterns of the building and live their own life while morphing one to another.
